Residence in Grunewald

Berlin, Grunewald

In 2016, STA was asked by the renowned New York architect Robert A. M. Stern to cooperate as local architect on their first residence in Germany – a villa in Berlin Grunewald, for which RAMSA provided both the exterior and interior design. The realization of this project gave STA the opportunity to learn first-hand from a highly admired role model.

Type: Villa Gross floor area: 1.610 m² Status: completed Year: 2016–2020

Project Partners: Grant F. Marani, Robert A. M. Stern

“I became familiar with the work of Sebastian Treese Architekten when introduced to their office as we began the design of my firm's first private residence in Berlin. Since our initial meeting in 2016 my admiration for their work has grown, and – I'm delighted to say – we have also become good friends.”

“The commitment of Sebastian Treese and his team to traditional architecture is clearly evident in their solid body of work. Their approach to design is one of discipline; they are well read and have a deep understanding of architectural history and know how to apply their knowledge to create elegant innovative work. Their fluency in the classical language of architecture allows their work to be both familiar and distinctive – intriguing and, importantly, legible to architects and laypeople alike (...)”
